Speak Volumes

Woodend Barn, Banchory [Map]
9–10 May 2009

Miriama Young's installation, located in the Byre at Woodend Barn, features works that explore the spoken and singing voice of the composer and her collaborators. The music ventures into what the mouth says, and doesn't say: from the spoken stories and anecdotes of New Yorkers in The Prime Cut, to the poet's spoken verse in 1,000 Kisses, to the melismatic singing voice in Souffle.

A selection of these works will feature in live concert at Woodend Barn at 3pm on Saturday 9th May.
